FAQ

Q: How can it be legal to prescribe medications online?

A: KwikMed operates pursuant to Utah State Law 58-83 and R156-83 and has been licensed by the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing to facilitate the prescribing of specific medications using an online diagnostic consultation. The following medications have been approved to be offered online thru 58-83 and R156-83: Viagra®, Cialis®, Levitra®, Propecia®, hormone-based contraceptives, and Chantix®. All prescriptions are written by licensed Physicians who prescribe medications based on a detailed medical assessment and, whenever necessary, personalized follow-up through e-mail and phone communication.

Q: Are there a lot of companies that do this?

A: Since December 2002, KwikMed has operated pursuant to an agreement with the State of Utah and in 2010 KwikMed was granted a license by the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. Few companies have been willing or able to meet the very strict requirements of Utah law. All medications are dispensed from a licensed and regulated Utah pharmacy.

There are many unregulated companies selling medications online. Many of these companies are located outside the U.S. in places like China, India and Saudi Arabia. There is no way for a consumer to know the safety and efficacy of the medications you are purchasing. KwikMed is licensed and regulated in Utah, and you can be assured that the medications you receive from us are 100% authentic, manufactured in the U.S., prescribed by licensed Physicians delivered to your door overnight.

Q: How can I be sure that I’m getting sound medical advice?

A: KwikMed and its Utah licensed Physicians follow a detailed protocol before writing a prescription. We believe our online diagnostic assessment used by our Physicians to diagnose patients is more thorough than the list of questions a doctor typically asks a patient during a routine visit.

Q: How does the online consultation work?

A: You will be asked to complete a detailed assessment outlining your medical history and any current medical conditions you have and also to list any medications you may be taking. Beginning with general questions, the assessment increasingly focuses on issues particular to each patient. The Physician reviewing your medical history, as well as the dispensing Pharmacist, may contact you for further details and/or decline your request for a prescription based on the information you provide. KwikMed does not charge for its online medical consultation.

Q: May I place an order for my spouse, friend or significant other?

A: No, the patient must complete the online diagnostic medical assessment. Our system collects a complete patient medical history in order for our Physicians to make a diagnosis and to prescribe a treatment and it needs to be obtained directly from the patient.

Q: What types of medication does KwikMed offer?

A: KwikMed offers medications that can be safely prescribed without a face-to-face evaluation and that can be delivered at a significant cost savings to you. Besides the convenience of ordering online from KwikMed, medications such as Viagra®, Cialis®, Levitra®, Propecia®, hormone-based contraceptives and Chantix® often cause patients unnecessary embarrassment at their local pharmacy. By being able to purchase these drugs safely and legally online and ship them directly to your home, that embarrassment is easily avoided. We encourage you to check back often as our selection of prescription drugs may expand. Please feel free to contact us to suggest medications you would like to have us sell.

Q: Is there a processing or consultation fee?

A: No, KwikMed does not charge you a consultation or processing fee if we fulfill the medication. Costs associated with having a Physician review your medical history, having our pharmacy fulfill your prescription and all associated processing costs are built into the cost of the medication. We do everything possible to keep these costs to a minimum and pass the savings on to you. If you request the prescription to be filled at a different pharmacy there is a $75 processing fee.

Q: Do you offer insurance as a payment?

A: No, we do not accept insurance as payment; however, you should contact your insurance company to determine if they will reimburse you for the medications you are purchasing.

Q: Do you accept Flex Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HAS) cards?

A: Yes, we are registered as a SIGIS member for the 90% Rule. We accept FSA and HSA cards as forms of payments.

Q: What is the difference between a new order and a refill order?

A: A new order is any first-time order that you place through KwikMed. If you have ordered a specific product from us in the past and have previously had our Physicians review your medical history and issue a prescription, you are refilling a prescription. Original prescriptions are valid for one year. If you are refilling an order, you will be asked to complete an abbreviated version of the online diagnostic assessment that you completed when you ordered your original prescription. If your prescription is older than one year, you will be asked to complete the full version of the online diagnostic assessment.

Q: May I have my prescription filled at another pharmacy?

A: Yes, you may choose to have your prescription filled at another pharmacy at any time; however, there will be a $75 processing fee. At KwikMed the cost for a Physician to review your medical history and for a pharmacy to dispense your prescription are built into the cost of the medicine. When a customer chooses to have their prescription filled elsewhere, we must separate those costs.

Please be aware that typically our Physicians do not prescribe medications with additional refills so you cannot go to local pharmacy requesting a refill. You must come back to our website and request another prescription and if medically approved, have it transferred to another pharmacy. The $75 processing fee is assessed each time for every prescription being transferred to another pharmacy.

Q: What is the return policy?

A: Per FDA regulations, prescription medication may not be returned once it is sent from the pharmacy. If you have any questions about the medicine you have received, please contact us and we will refer your question to the pharmacy and/or Physician who wrote your prescription, or to our customer service department. In addition, you may e-mail the pharmacy or Physician directly using our secure e-mail system by logging-in to your account. The secure e-mail system assures your privacy.

If you believe you have received an incorrect medication; please do not take the medication and contact Customer Service immediately, and then KwikMed will address the error.

Q: What does the package look like?

A: Your privacy is very important to us, and for that reason we do not indicate the contents of the package on its label. We ship using Federal Express and USPS Express envelopes. The return address on the envelope displays the name and address of the pharmacy that shipped your product. Because we require an adult signature upon delivery, many of our customers ship their order to a work address where someone is available to sign for the package.

Q: How can I be sure KwikMed is selling authentic drugs?

A: We are a Utah licensed and regulated pharmaceutical services company providing prescriptions online pursuant to Utah Statue 58-86 and R156-83. We purchase all of our medications from U.S. manufacturers and nationally recognized distributors. Every tablet we sell can be traced to the manufacturer. Currently there are no legal generics for the medications we sell. Generics offered online are not legally manufactured medications and were likely manufactured in China, India or in various parts of Africa and may be dangerous.
