For some people it takes a few weeks before Chantix® works its best.
- Take Chantix® with a full eight ounce glass of water after eating.
- On average, people taking Chantix® will continue the regimen for 12 weeks. If after 12 weeks you have completely stopped smoking, speak with your physician to see if another 12 weeks of Chantix® will give you a better chance to keep from smoking again.
- Some people find that the Pfizer Get-Quit™ program is helpful for extra support. This program is one year long and requires the Pfizer code on you will find on your Chantix® prescription package. Chantix® comes in 2 different colored tablets - white and blue. You will take the white (0.5 mg) tablet first and then move to the blue (1.0 mg) tablet.
